Similar to other Dutch Caribbean speaking countries, musicians in Aruba have adapted a degree of versatility. Musicians hailing from the beautiful island nation of Aruba are quite versatile. In order to gain  any sort of recognition on the musical scene nationally and internationally, they must be well versed in differents genres and instruments of music and also be familiar with the music of their country. Similar to other French Caribbean speaking countries, musicians in Guadelope have adapted a degree of versatility. Because of the history and political climate of the country in the early years of independence, much of the music originating in Guadeloupe was simple and played on easily accessibility instruments. The natives and settlers at the time were more accepting of music as a form of recreation rather than a professional career outside military bands. Because Trinidad is indeed a melting pot of many cultures, it is paramount  for musicians  to be well versed in the instruments  associated with these cultures. Just so we are all on the same page, let’s get a bit of background information.   The music we know today was not haphazard. It required centuries of fine-tuning, trial and error, and many many successes. However, one of the core themes of Music is the degree of versatility of musicians and their work.
